In February and March 2021, we will be piloting a new kind of offering through the School for Monastic Living. Once a week for eight weeks, we will be inviting people to gather around the theme of ‘Exile and Empire’ – a topic that is sure to resonate with many people in these disconcerting days.
‘Exile’ expresses the discomfort and dislocation we often feel as we explore the questions ‘Who is it that you seek?’, ‘How shall we sing the Lord’s song?’ and, ‘How then shall we live’. ‘Empire’ is the context in which we are exiles.
In this introductory conversation, Roy Searle invites us to meet Companions in Community, Peter Mcdowell (in Belfast, Northern Ireland) and Carla Waterman (in Minnesota, US), as they talk more about what the course will involve and the transformational learning opportunities they hope it will bring.
