A CALL TO PRAYER – DAY SEVEN

Prayers for peace in us

We continue to pray together this Community Liturgy – ‘I am for peace’ (page 1066 in Celtic Daily Prayer Book Two) – every day over seven days (and beyond).  In doing so, as we light these daily candles, we pray for, and with, our brothers and sisters in Ukraine, Russia, Poland, other neighbouring countries and all affected by the consequences of this war.

TODAY we light the seventh of our seven candles

  • We remember that peace-making
    must begin inside ourselves.
  • Saying,

   ‘Foster peace in every place!’

Bless-ed are the peacemakers.

  • We say,
       ‘Introduce peace to your household.’

Bless-ed are the peacemakers

  • We guard the miracle of peace-making,

saying,
   ‘Protect peace, nourish peace.
   Make peace your close companion.’

Let peace disarm the strong.

  • We say to others:
‘Peace will bring you to a spacious place
       within your own soul,
and wherever its generosity is welcomed.’
  • We remember that peace-making must begin
    inside ourselves

The seventh candle is lit

and light this candle that we too may find peace
and live from its inner springs.

May we find peace,

and live from its inner springs.

Each day we will post part of the liturgy, as a focus for your prayers.
