Online Retreat Programme

What do our online retreats look like?

As well as daily input, retreatants will have the opportunity to join in with our daily offices, so that the ongoing prayer rhythms can hold the space for us to be transformed through our encounters with God.  And we also have twice-daily ‘kettle on’ spaces, hosted by members of our Welcome and Hospitality team, as valuable ‘places of informal connection’ for those who would like to join in.

Retreat materials will be made available from retreat-specific landing pages and include downloads of key documents, video and audio links.

Unless otherwise noted, these retreats are run on a UK timezone (GMT – standard time or BST – daylight saving time). Generally, they begin at 7:30pm on Monday or Friday evening and end by 7:00pm on Thursday or Sunday evening.

2. Community Introductions

This retreat will enable you to learn more about who we are as Community. We are aware that many people may have ‘found’ us during this season – through our daily prayers, leadership reflections, prayer network or Monastic Living blog – and are wanting to explore further what it would mean to journey with us. Priority will be given to those who have already expressed an interest in postulancy or the novitiate but there are likely to be other spaces available.

Available dates for the second half of 2023 are:

28 September – 2 October – North American and Australasian times

This retreat will operate on a slightly different timetable to our usual retreats so that we can accommodate people who are around the world from each other! This retreat will be spread over four half days, instead of two and a half full days. The sessions will take place in the afternoon/evening for those in North America, starting on the 28th, ending on the 1st. For those in Australia and New Zealand, the sessions will be in the mornings/early afternoons, starting on the 29th and ending on the 2nd.

A *suggested donation would be £150 – £190 for a four-day retreat; £120 – £150 for a weekend. If you are a UK tax payer, please do consider ‘gift-aiding’ your donation. See information on suggested donations and deposits under ‘Finance’ on the Online Retreat Programme page.

What happens after you have registered your interest?

You should receive an email within a few days, which will indicate whether or not there is a place available. In that email we will request a non-refundable deposit be made to confirm your booking. Once your deposit has been received, your place will be confirmed.

Then, about a week before the retreat starts, you will receive further details, which will include a link to a special landing page for your retreat. This will contain all of the information that you will need: including a programme outline, zoom link and resources.
